Faces that Move — Films that Connect!

32. Filmfest Hamburg Moving Image Campaign in public spaces

The newly developed campaign for the 32nd edition of @filmfesthamburg, now under the direction of Malika Rabahallah, highlights the power of films to unite people and evoke shared emotions.

In collaboration with Hamburg photographer Michael Kohls, we brought to life the vision of Filmfest Hamburg as a festival for the public, creating a space where cinema fosters connection and empathy and inviting us to see the world through someone else’s eyes.

The goal is for people to laugh, cry, and come closer through the medium of film. The result is a festival experience where joy, excitement, and emotions are celebrated and shared intensively.

For the 32nd edition of Filmfest Hamburg, the visual identity has been unified for the first time: campaign, trailer, poster series, and program booklet all go hand in hand, presenting a cohesive overall image that connects the various elements of the festival.

The Michel Filmfest continues the campaign’s focus. Through comic-like eyes, children gaze expectantly into a world full of adventure and fantasy. Their bright, colorful eyes reflect the joy and curiosity they feel as they discover new stories and exciting film moments. Through these eyes, they see the magic in every film, ready to transport them to other worlds.
