Between neon tubes and concrete – For the film promotion company we designed a conceptual and strategic reorientation including naming. As part of the Senate of Culture, MOIN Filmförderung is the regional film funding institution of the city of Hamburg and the state of Schleswig-Holstein. In 2020, we initiated the redesign process of the institution by renaming it MOIN, an acronym for the claim MOVING IMAGES NORTH. This was followed by the development of a confident visual language. By shifting the color wheel slightly, we derived the color concept from the national colors of red and blue.
The logo release took place with a kick-off event and was titled "Die erste Runde geht auf uns" (EN: "The first round is on us"). Ongoing events, for example as part of the Filmfest Hamburg, are also the subject of the design.
The high-contrast color blocking is combined with an individual visual language of 3D illustrations. These play with exaggerated kitsch motifs of the North and quote them in a distorted and fictitious way.
